The Strategic Rocket Forces are planning to conduct ten missile launches in 2011, according to a statement of Vadim Koval, the press-secretary of the service. These will be three launches of Topol/SS-25, four UR-100NUTTH/SS-19 (RS-18) launches, and three launches of the RS-24 missile. Koval also reported that the Rocket Forces conducted five ballistic missile launches in 2010.
The five 2010 launches were three Dnepr/R-36MUTTH launches - on April 8, June 15, and June 21 - and two Topol launches - from Plesetsk on October 28 and from Kapustin Yar on December 5.
It should be noted that the Rocket Forces announced earlier that the Dnepr space launch program will be discontinued. The Kosmotras company that managed the Dnepr program, however, believes that it could still use the remaining 18 R-36MUTTH/RS-20B missiles to conduct space launches through 2014 and that R-36M2/RS-20V missiles could also be used for space launches.
