According to one report, Russia attempted to test-launch a Sarmat missile on 31 October 2023. The test is said to be a failure with the missile failing on the 77th second of the flight and falling down about 200 km from the launch point. This report has not been reliably confirmed but Russia did publish a NOTAM notification ahead of the test, suggesting that it was planning to conduct a test.
