On July 29, 2009 Russia conducted a successful launch of a Dnepr space launcher, which delivered into orbit six small satellites - DubaiSat 1, Deimos 1, UK-DMC 2, Nanosat 1B, AprizeSat 3, and AprizeSat 4. The launch took place at 22:46 MSK (18:46 UTC).

The Dnepr launcher is a converted R-36MUTTH (RS-20B/SS-18) missile. The missile used in this launch was reportedly manufactured in 1984 and remained in active force until 2008.

This is a twelfth Dnepr launch since 1999. Previous launch took place in October 2008.
