At 12:22 MSK (08:22 UTC) on 30 September 2004, a submarine of the Pacific Fleet conducted a successful test launch of a R-29R/SS-N-18 ballistic missile. The submarine that conducted the launch, K-433 Sv. Georgiy Pobedonosets of the Project 667BDR/Delta III class, was deployed in the Sea of Okhotsk. The missile warheads successfully reached the Kanin Peninsula area.

Previous successful launch of a R-29R missile was conducted from the same submarine on November 2nd, 2004.
