When in April this year Vladimir Kuroyedov, the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, said that he "firmly belives" that the first two submarines with Bulava missiles will enter service by the end of 2006, I was quite skeptical of the claim. Rightly so - now Kuroyedov is saying that by the end of 2006 the missile will only get through its flight test program. But this is highly unlikely as well - even if the flight tests will begin this year (this keeps slipping as well - the first test was to take place in May 2005), it is virtually impossible to complete the program in one year.
