Russia is a big country, most of which is scarcely populated, so the military has never had problems finding places for its target ranges. The only problem is that it is hard to get there. Unless, of course, you are a cruise missile launched from a strategic bomber. The three cruise missiles launched during today's strategic bomber exercise apparently got to their targets at the Pem-boy test range without any problems.

The test range has never been mentioned before, so it took me a while to locate it on the map. But I think I found it - it's not far from Vorkuta, somewhere around the 65E 68N point. "Pem-boy" is a name of a small mountain range there, which linguists believe means "rather rocky" in the local Nenets language.
