The date of bringing the new-generation strategic submarine to service continues to slip. The minister of defense just announced that the first submarine of this class, Yuri Dolgorukiy, will be launched only by the end of 2006. In April, the commander-in-chief of thr Navy was quoted as saying that by that time the Navy will have two submarines with their missiles ready (not that anyone believed him at the time, though).
