There were rumors that Russia might launch a new geostationary early-warning satellite this year - some time in May or June. Now it looks like this launch may not materialize - the Proton-K that were to be used in that launch in June have been given to the Ministry of Communication for a launch of an Express-AM communication satellite.
It's either that the military believe that the space component of the early-warning systems works okay as it is or they have just given up on it completely. We'll have to wait to find this out.
