It's a new missile week in Russia - the attempt to launch a new ICBM on Tuesday was followed by a test launch of what described as a new SLBM, Liner, on September 29th, 2011. This time the launch was successful. The launch was performed from the Tula submarine of the Project 667BDRM class deployed in the Barents Sea. All warheads reportedly reached their designated aimpoints at the Kura test range in Kamchatka.
The sea-launched ballistic missile that is known as Liner was first tested in May 2011 (from a different submarine, Ekaterinburg). It appears to be a modification of the R-29RM Sineva missile that carries a few extra warheads.
