All six Topol-M missiles that the Rocket Forces are planning to deploy in 2009 will be road-mobile missiles (they will be known as RS-24, of course [UPDATE: Apparently, only three missiles will be RS-24]). The sixth regiment of silo-based Topol-Ms in Tatishchevo will be completed by the end of 2010, according to the Rocket Forces.

No RS-24 this year?
Quite the opposite - six Topol-Ms are expected this year. If everything goes as planned (i.e. no START extension) they will be MIRVed. That's what RS-24 is.
So, the question is now, how many warheads per missile? 3? 6?
Pavel: 6 regiments ? I always thought a regiment would have 9 msl (one location). Now we have one rgt of SS-25 (9), one rgt (9) of SS-27, additionally 6 SS-27 (missing 3 to complete one rgt). Additionally 6 RS-24 would mean to have 21 SS-27/SS-29.
But 6 rgt would mean to have 54 Topols? So I'm a little bit confused. Could you pls help?
Bernd: The plan is to have six regiments of silo-based Topol-Ms.
They said that it will be at least four - http://russianforces.org/blog/2009/03/no_fewer_than_four_warheads_on.shtml
