My questions is: was any device like this ever built and did the soviets made claims to have built a doomsday device during the cold war and the reagan administration as claimed here? IF not, i would like to make some modifications for the wikipedia article as we don´t have much info on it and base ourselves only in anecdotal and speculative information. If not possible to respond here i would appreciate if you could answewr me to my email.
It is quite a bit off-topic, so I removed the quoted text. A short answer is, no, there was no Doomsday device of the kind that is described in Wikipedia. The Soviet Union had various plans to make sure its command and control system cannot be decapitated, but there was no "200-Mt bomb" or anything like it.
Thanks for the answer, surely i found it difficult to believe that such thing could be built secretly, just one more question please, although there is a video of a documentary which mentions that there was the intention to built a ship witha monstruos device to produce a radioactive cloud in the earth atmosphere by using a ship, in the time of nikita khruschev. I am sure you must have heard of it. Perhaps some stories came of it. I give you a link, I hope it doesn´t bother you and you find it interesting. It is mentioned to have been codenamed doomsday. Was it the only time such thing was planned. Here i give you a link:

Was this project the only time a doomsday device was considered?
I don't think this documentary is credible. I haven't seen anything in the Soviet documents and accounts of the time that would suggest that a project like this was ever considered.
From what I have read, the "Doomsday Device" was contemplated by both Russia and the United States. The concept was a 50,000 MT cobalt salted device. Anything smaller would not produce the required total global contamination levels.

- And how about some testing of this 'concept'?
:-)
In outer space -behind the moon maybe?
