On June 28, 2007 the Strategic Rocket Forces successfully conducted a launch of a Dnepr launcher from the Yasnyy/Dombarovsky launch site. The launcher, a converted R-36MUTTH/RS-20B/SS-18 missile, delivered a Genesis II satellite into a low-earth orbit. The launch took place at 19:02 MSK (15:02 UTC).
The satellite is the second in the series of satellites produced by Bigelow Aerospace. The contract for the two launches was signed by Kosmotras in October 2005. Genesis I satellite was successfully launched in July 2006.

Just so everyone knows the point of the Genesis satellites is to test inflatable structures in space, with an eye towards building a space hotel by 2015.
It's not very clear from the website what the purpose of the genesis satellites are.
I actually got to attend the launch. The pad used is one in the area-1, about five miles west of the Yasniy compound for the US launch campaign team. We drive by the pad on the way to the airport the next day, and were told that other pads in the same area were still carrying armed ICBMs. More to follow.
