With blogs proliferating very rapidly, it is only natural that the RussianForces site will start a blog of its own to cover (what else?) Russian strategic nuclear forces. The blog will complement the news section of the site, which will continue to be more of a record-keeping news feed with emphasis on facts about major developments.
As it turned out, not all developments can be fit into the news section format. Some developments relatively minor; with others we do not have enough information yet to qualify them as news. Still, there seems to be enough interesting information to provide material for a regularly updated blog. We will see.

Question: Is starting up your blog at the end of December related to that old Soviet tradition that you mentioned of packing a lot of last-minute items into December? :)

Yes, I guess pushing everything to the end of December must be fairly deep in the Soviet culture :)
