Conventional missions will play more prominent role in future operations of the Russian strategic aviation (I mentioned this before). According to Vladimir Mikhailov, the commander-in-chief of the Air Force, the program that began with conversion of one Tu-160 bomber will be extended to include other bombers of this type. They are being refitted to carry non-nuclear high-precision munitions and gravity bombs in particular.

As for Tu-95MS bombers, they are probably stuck with nuclear cruise missiles - Mikhailov said only that these planes will get better navigation and guidance software.
