On December 3, 2020 at 01:14 MSK (01:14 UTC) the Space Forces conducted a successful launch of a Soyuz-2.1b space launcher with Fregat booster stage from the launch pad No. 3 of the launch complex No. 43 of the Plesetsk test site. The launcher delivered into orbit three Gonets-M communication satellites (Nos. 30, 31, and 32) and a small satellite designated Cosmos-2548.

According to the Ministry of Defense, Cosmos-2548, which received international designation 2020-091D and registered by NORAD as object 47230, is a "nano-scale satellite ERA-1," which will be used to "develop future micro devices and micro components of guidance and attitude control systems."

The launch was originally scheduled to take place on 24 November 2020, but was postponed because of a problem with the launcher.
