The Air and Space Defense Forces conducted a successful test of the new interceptor of the Moscow missile defense system at the Sary-Shagan test site. According to a VKS representative, "the series of tests fully confirmed technical characteristics of the interceptor." The date of the test was not reported, but it is likely that it took place on August 29 of August 30.
This appears to be the fifth test of the new interceptor, usually referred to as 53T6M. The previous test was conducted in July 2018.

Hello Pavel, do you have any info/thoughts about the Пересвет mobile directed-energy (laser) complex? So far, it seems it's been deployed in the vicinity of РВСН missile bases. This may indicate a possible ABM or ASAT use.
At this point I have no idea what this system is about. I seriously doubt it can have ABM or ASAT role, though
Pavel, why not ASAT? Oko was able to use a ground-based laser to reach out into outer space back in the 80s. Could this simply be a mobile version, powered by a minituarized nuclear reactor?
