The Space and Air Defense Forces performed a successful launch of a Soyuz-2.1b rocket from the launch complex No. 43 of the Plesetsk space launch site. The launch took place at 00:52:26 MSK on December 1, 2014 MSK (21:52:26 on November 30, 2014 UTC). The satellite that the rocket and its Fregat boost stage delivered into orbit is a Glonass-K navigation satellite.
The satellite received international designation 2014-075A and was registered by NORAD as object 40315. The official report does not mention its Cosmos designation, but it appears that the satellites will be designated Cosmos-2501. Internal Glonass number of the satellite is 702, it is deployed in point 9 of the second orbital plane of the constellation.
Previous Glonass launch took place in June 2014.
