Cosmos-2470/Geo-IK-2 officially declared lost

The Geo-IK-2/Cosmos-2470 geodetic satellite, which was launched on February 1, 2011, was officially declared lost by the Space Forces on June 28, 2011. The satellite failed to reach the working orbit during the launch and could not be used for its intended purpose.

UPDATE: The satellite was reported to enter the atmosphere and burn up at about 18:05 MSK on 15 July 2013.
