On February 18th, 2004 at 10:05:55 DMV (07:05:55 UTC) Russia successfully launched Molniya-M rocket with the Cosmos-2405 spacecraft from the launch pad 16 of the Plesetsk launch site. Cosmos-2405 is a communication satellite of the Molniya-1T type.

According to the Main Space Command and Control Center, the spacecraft successfully reached its orbit at 11:03 DMV (08:03 UTC). Its international designation is 2004-005A, NORAD catalog number is 28163.

According to NORAD data, inclination of the initial orbit of Cosmos-2405 is 62.8 degrees, orbital period is about 735 minutes. Apogee of the orbit is 40617 km, perigee - 638 km. In the next few days the satellite will be stabilized at the orbit with the orbital period of two revolutions a day.

UPDATE: On May 31, 2004 the Space Forces informed that the satellite was given official designation Molniya-1T. The Cosmos-2405 name was given to the satellite launched on May 28, 2004.
